Building teams and communities— women’s disc golf

By actively building the foundation, we transform divisions of 1 into a full women’s card.

True growth in disc golf happens when we intentionally design environments where players can thrive. To help shift the balance on the roster, www.VERBDG.org uses the Magnet Effect to welcome players to the tee:

  1. Kickstart the Division: A blank registration list can be intimidating and stall momentum. To break the ice, VERB uses online store generated funds to sponsor initial registrations. Putting those first names on the lineup instantly removes the hesitation for everyone else.

  2. Active Outreach: Launching those initial spots is the catalyst. From there, the focus shifts to direct, personal connection—reaching out to local players, encouraging advocates, and actively inviting women to join the card.

  3. The Magnet Takes Over: Once a starting lineup begins to form, the psychology of the page shifts. More players register naturally and confidently, knowing they have a competitive, supportive group waiting for them.
